Student Success at Medical Lake Middle School

PBIS - Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports

"Medical Lake Middle School is excited to announce our involvement in a program called Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS). We have had a core group of middle school teachers attending workshops throughout the school year to learn about this program and feel we are ready for kick off!  PBIS is a proactive, team-based framework for creating and sustaining safe and effective schools. Emphasis is placed on prevention of problem behavior, development of pro-social skills, and the use of data-based problem solving for addressing existing behavior concerns. PBIS increases the capacity of schools to educate all students utilizing research-based school-wide, classroom, and individualized interventions."
If you have any questions or concerns about the PBIS program or bullying at Medical Lake Middle School, call the office at 565-3300.

PACE - Partners Advancing Character Education

"Medical Lake Middle School is implementing a new program called PACE: Partners Advancing Character Education. PACE is a grassroots Spokane Valley initiative to promote the importance of good character through partnerships with schools, businesses, public agencies, residents, faith-based organizations and community service groups. We are proud to say that the West Plains Chamber of Commerce is one of our community partners. Our goal at the middle school is to expand our community partners and to work with our parents to promote this program. Each month we will be selecting students and a teacher who exemplifies the character trait of the month. We would like to encourage your child to exemplify the monthly traits at home as well."
