I am excited to be your child’s 6th grade science teacher for the 2019-2020 school year. This will be my 20th year of teaching and I’m ready for another fantastic year here in Medical Lake.
Sixth grade science focuses on the physical sciences. The topics we explore are weather, climate, natural disasters, and astronomy. A detailed class syllabus and assignment calendar can be viewed using the links on the side of this page.
In addition to the 6th grade science classes, I also teach the 6th period Project Lead The Way classes. The 6A class begins with Design and Modeling (using Autodesk software to create 3D models) and the 6B class will begin with Automation and Robotics (building mechanical mechanisms and writing computer programs to operate them). The classes will switch at the semester so that students can experience both of these exciting STEM classes.
I am also a coach for the middle school robotics club. This year we plan on competing in the First Lego League competition. We meet after school on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays through the fall and early winter months. To join the club, there is an application process. Use the link on the side of this page to access the application and other details about the club.
If you have any questions, need further information about the classes I teach, or would like to share specific needs or ways I can better serve your child’s learning goals, please feel free to call or email me.
